ನಾಯಿಗಳು, ನಾಗರಹಾವುಗಳು, ಹಸುಗಳು, ಬೆಕ್ಕುಗಳಂತಹ ಅನೇಕ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಭಂಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ವಿವಿಧ ಯೋಗ ಭಂಗಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೆಲವು ಭಂಗಿಗಳು ಅಥವಾ ಆಸನಗಳು ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ಚಿತ್ರಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಆಸನಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಹೆಸರಿಡಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಕುತೂಹಲಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಮಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಈ ಹೆಸರಿಡಲಾಗಿದೆಯೇ ಎಂಬುದು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ವರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವುಗಳ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಂಗಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅವುಗಳ ದೈಹಿಕ ಅಥವಾ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ವ್ಯಾಯಾಮವು ಆ ಭಂಗಿಗೆ ಸರಿಹೊಂದುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಯೋಗಿಗಳು
